What is GTN cream used for

WHAT IS GTN OINTMENT? GTN ointment (Rectogesic®) is a special prepara- tion of a drug which relaxes the muscle surrounding the anus. It is used for conditions which give rise to pain in the anus such as anal fissure, acutely in- flamed haemorrhoids or after surgery in this area e.g. haemorrhoidectomy.

How do you use GTN Plus ointment

Wear a rubber glove and get a small amount of the ointment on your index finger. Apply it around your anus; do not rub it in. The ointment should not be inserted into the anus, just on the surrounding skin. Remember to wash your hands immediately after applying the ointment because it can be absorbed from your fingers.
